Parkour
WHAT IS PARKOUR?
BEGINNER- ADVANCE (+3)
Parkour is an athletic sport that developed from military obstacle course training.
Practitioners (tracers) aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment (usually urban), negotiating obstacles without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
It includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, Tumbling / acrobatics, plyometrics, rolling, quadrupedal (crawling) movements and others as deemed most suitable for the situation.
The sport requires the athletes to see their environment in a new way, and imaging the potential for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over and under its features.
CLASS CLOTHING
Athletes can wear any sport/exercise clothing that allows for free movement to perform skills safely.
The clothing must not hinder them from performing any skills. May wear T-shirts/ leotards/sweaters (with or without sleeves) with shorts/pants/sweatpants/
trousers/leggings.
Athletes to preferably wear suitable sport/running shoes.
COMPETITION CLOTHING

ChaNic Parkour Shirt with any
black shorts, sweatpants or
trousers (non-restricting) for club
and North-Gauteng Competitions.

The levels are progressive as each level form the basis for the next. To qualify athletes need to partake in 3 club competitions and only then can they partake in North-Gauteng and SA’s. Athletes qualify for North-Gauteng colors from level 4 and upwards.
FUN, FUN, FUN
During the year we allow our Parkour athletes to partake
at festivals as a fun, non-competitive event to show off
their skills. We also arrange events for the athletes to
show case their skills for and with family members. These
events include: Dads vs Lads Day, Bounce Workshop, and
the (SYL)Festival
